Our Client that is one of the largest companies in the Gulf region, a multinational holding with operations in 30 jurisdictions with more than 20 companies of diverse profile and more than 11,000 employees, is looking for candidates to fill in the following position:

IT Security Manager

Place of duty: Gulf region

The position will address the Information security needs. This will include the computing environment, infrastructure, policy, risk assessment, prevention, licensing, training and delivery of services

The Manager, Information Security is responsible for the creation, enforcement and adherence to all IT security policies, practices, procedures, and processes

The scope of responsibility includes:

  • Responsible for developing, documenting, communicating and implementing IT Security Governance, policies, procedures and processes in conjunction with Technical Services and the end user community Responsible for development and implementation of all IT security standards – technical and non technical
  • Participate in the design, development and implementation of all IT processes & procedures from a security perspective
  • Responsible for determining roles and duties for security personnel and the deployment of people within IT
  • Analyzing Security risks within AI’s IT environment and preparing recommendations to senior management for operational improvements
  • Conducting regular Security Audits of AI’s IT operations, processes, procedures, products and services Establish regular security reporting and report content
  • Evaluating and implementing IT Security risk and risk mitigation scenarios
  • Identifying potential areas where existing IT security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion
  • Perform investigations of alleged or potential breaches of IT Security by staff and/or external groups and individuals
  • Implement IT Security system controls where needed
  • Prepare and issue reports, including making recommendations, attend meetings/grievances/arbitrations that may result as an outcome of investigations. Assist in performing IT Security incident investigations including those that may have labour or senior staffing sensitivities or contain sensitive labour relations issues
  • Provide implementation support, identification of systems vulnerabilities, system risk assessment and IT security advice and consultation to business unit leaders, system developers and others as necessary. IT Security Systems include but are not limited to firewalls, encryption, virus products, internet proxy servers, access control mechanisms, authentication systems, password systems ( AD, LDAP, SAP, CA-Unicenter, etc.), application authorizations, security patch management, data and backup processes and authorizations
  • Plan, develop and implement an effective logging and audit reporting system across the IT systems to ensure that there is an adequate ability to detect and follow-up on unauthorized events in a timely manner
  • Conduct audits, risk and security assessments of new and modified IT Systems, with appropriate vulnerability identification, ensuring recommendations contain appropriate consideration of cost, business priorities and risk to the corporation

  • Ability to quickly familiarize oneself with new security technologies, the implementation requirements of those security technologies, and how to integrate those security technologies into a larger solution.
  • Ability to analyze new applications, identify potential security concerns, develop approaches that can be used to mitigate identified risks, and work with members of TSA IT to implement recommendations
  • Strong project management and problem/conflict resolution skills. Effective prioritization and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of business processes and business drivers that can affect system design.
  • Understanding of risk assessment/acceptance factors that can affect business and security decisions.


  •  At least 7 years of progressive experience in IT security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO/IEC 17799 / BS 7799 information security standards
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business
  • Formal training in Network Engineering and or Network Administration
  • Data Centre Operations experience
  • Network scanning and Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) experience
  • Application, and physical security experience 


One or more of the following are highly desirable:

  •  CISSP (Certified Information Security & System Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditing)
  • ITIL Foundation / Practitioner / Service Manager
  • MCSA/MCSE with Security Specialization
  • CISCO certification: e.g. CCIE with Specialization for Security
